Pat brings a lifetime of spiritual and artistic experimentation to teaching a safe, powerful, eclectic vinyasa yoga. He began practicing yoga in 1995, hoping to improve his breathing and performance as a professional saxophonist. One class became a lifelong study, as he continues to explore the various facets of yoga in all parts of life.
Pat has been teaching yoga since 2005, with a wide clientele of athletes, intellectuals, young and old from all over the world. His classes embrace a mix of yoga styles and movement patterns, from power yoga and martial arts to kriyas and therapeutic bodywork to challenge and awaken the bodies and spirits of all his students. He received his 200 and 500 hour certifications from David Vendetti and the Body Awakenings school, and has also completed a level one training Baron Baptiste. His interest in body mechanics, injury prevention and creating more efficiency in his own practice led him to study with the remarkable Jill Miller, and he is proud to be a Yoga Tune-Up teacher, combining yoga with careful functional movement and self-massage.
Eight years ago Pat discovered the practice of AcroYoga, a blend of yoga, partner acrobatics and Thai Massage, and was completely entranced by the practice. Pat is now an AcroYoga instructor, teaching AcroYoga all over New England and beyond.
Pat received a Bachelors of Music from the Eastman School of Music, and a Masters of Music from the New England Conservatory. His third CD as a bandleader, Who We Are Together, was released in 2015. When he is not teaching or practicing yoga, he teaches music and conducts jazz ensembles at Lexington High School.
